Your Credit and Buying a Home Workshop
Thank you for attending our workshop on credit and buying a home.
Your homework is to visit http://www.annualcreditreport.com and pull your credit report. This is free and you only need to use one bureau. I recommend saving the other two bureaus to re-check your credit 4 months from now and 8 months from now. (You get one free credit pull form each bureau every 12 months). You do NOT need to buy any of their products - this is a free service!
For extra credit, review your most recent credit card statements and make a list of how much your current interest rates are.
I've also included a flyer on How to Build and Maintain Your Credit Score - please note that not all the tips provided (especially the first quick tip) may apply to you and it may be helpful to have your credit reviewed by a mortgage professional.

11/20/2026 UPDATE: Great news! Fannie Mae (conventional) no longer has a minimum score requirement. This change to underwriting guidelines happened after I prepared this class. Here's more info on how this may impact you!
